Third Party Risk Management

Third-party vulnerabilities is one of the most dangerous causes of cybersecurity threats — and Prevalent is fighting it head on. When Fulcrum invested $4 million in the Warren, NJ based Prevalent in 2014, Prevalent needed guidance on how to grow marketing and sales, establish key infrastructures and hire the right leaders to join their executive team.

Quickly Created Value Together

In their first year of partnership, Fulcrum and Prevalent built a marketing lead gen engine fueled by SEO / SEM activities,  and webinars. They  recruited the company’s first SVP of Sales and VP of marketing, and set up a reporting structure that kept them on track and goal-oriented.  They also added Ken Walters to the board, a seasoned B2B enterprise software operator who worked with Fulcrum and the company to shape the team and go to market strategy.

Over the next two years, Prevalent and Fulcrum continued to work on product strategy and positioning while ramping the sales force, pipeline creation and customer success teams. Fulcrum also worked on the product strategy for Synapse, an innovative tool launched by Prevalent in 2015. By the end of that year, the Company had created  $20 million in the pipeline

Continued Success

In January 2015, Prevalent completed an $8 million Series B round with Fulcrum and Spring Mountain Capital, and by November of the same year they completed a $60MM recap with Insight Capital, representing over 400% increase in enterprise value from our initial  investment in June 2014; Fulcrum retains a 5% ownership in Prevalent which continues to scale rapidly.

Today, Prevalent is rapidly growing as a clear leader in the third-party risk management and cyber threat intelligence space. In 2017 Gartner named Prevalent as a leader in their Magic Quadrant and is the only company that offers a complete, purpose-built, integrated suite of solutions for third party risk management. From automated assessment software to continuous threat monitoring, Prevalent is leading the fight against cyber threats.
