Shereta Williams

Shereta Williams is Vice President of Business Development on the Strategy and Corporate Development team of Cox Enterprises, based in Atlanta, Ga.

In this role, Shereta is an operator-in-residence and leads strategic initiatives to help scale up Cox Enterprises’ investments and future acquisitions. She drives how and where the company engages and builds relationships with key partners and co-investors in these ventures.

An electrical engineer graduate from M.I.T., she began her career working in investment banking at Lazard Frères & Co., where she participated in acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, hostile takeovers, and public debt and equity offerings. She joined CEI’s Corporate Venture Group in 1998 and then took increasing responsibilities in a variety of strategy, corporate development and business development roles at Cox Television and Cox Media Group.

In between roles at Cox, Shereta was the managing director of the currency division for Maven Funds, a startup hedge fund in Atlanta where she was responsible for traders, implementation of automated trading systems, risk management and operations.

In her most recent role at Cox as President of Videa, Shereta created and scaled up a SaaS enterprise business inside Cox from initial idea to millions in revenue. She managed an engineering team that developed a state-of-the-art highly scalable cloud-based software solution with a combination of in- house engineers and overseas contractors. Along the way, she assembled a multi-functional team of over 100 to serve more than 600 TV stations and a broad base of large agency clients.

Shereta is a Georgia native raised on a 1,000-acre cattle ranch in Carroll County. She is a nature lover who enjoys hiking, travel and any good excuse to be outside with her wife and dog.
